Shift schedule routine builder
Type in when your shift starts and how long your commute is. You'll get a simple timeline for the day: when to wake, when to leave, when you'll be home and when to start winding down.
How the timeline is worked out
- Arrive at work = shift start minus how early you like to arrive.
- Leave home = arrival minus your commute.
- Wake up = leave time minus how long you take to get ready.
- Home = shift end, plus handoff time, plus the commute back.
- Sleep window starts after your wind-down. For day shifts the tool also works backwards from your alarm to show a lights-out time the night before.
Nothing is saved or sent anywhere; the numbers are worked out in your browser.
Tips for using it
- Use your real commute on a bad day, not a good one. Parking and walking in from the lot count.
- If you're on 12-hour shifts, run it once for a day stretch and once for a night stretch and write both down.
- "Hours you want for sleep" is your choice. The tool just does the clock maths.
Want this on paper? The Shift Work Morning Planner has pre-shift pages for day, night and rotating shifts, with space to write these times down once and reuse them.
